I just read somewhere on line where the author tagged buddhism as a "cult" philosophy--This is so far from any cult.
I guess more than anything, I dislike any religion or group that judges and pigeon holes a religion because it's not the one they believe in.
What I love about this county is the freedom of choice. And yes, the freedom to say what you want about anything...I guess that what this author did, and what I am doing now. But because of the authors view, I suppose I am now less likely to read the authors writings....I know...pretty narrow minded of me. It's funny how things can effect one another. Maybe later I will go back to reading the author, but it's my choice when I do.
This morning we had some nice women come to our door to discuss the bible. They handed some literature and wanted to read some scriptures. But I kindly told them we didn't have the time as my parents were getting ready to head up to Sacramento today, but I accepted the literature and wished them a good day. Isara was behind me and asked what the papers were. I told her that they were writings about the bible and a religion called Christianity. She asked why they were going to house to house. I explained they just wanted to share what they believed in. I then told her that that are many religions in the world that people believe in. It's ok to believe in different things...it's not ok to say one is better than the other. But it's important to learn because when you listen to what is being said, whether Christianity or Buddism or any other world religion, they kind of say the same philosophy...be kind, be gentle, take care of each other, work through with diligence, have patience, etc.
But again, this is my opinion. Thank goodness we here are entitled to that! I like the term religious philosophy......seems opposite and alike at the same time!
