Thursday 13-All about Raj!

In honor of my bro's birthday yesterday...a big whopping 37!!!! I am paing homage to the man with this weeks Thursday 13.....

13 reasons I love my 37 year old Brother (yes, I will repeat that you are 37....trust me...it's not as bad as 40!)

1. He a great brother! He treated me out to lunch to day at Panera and we had a great time catching up and later watching Inglorious Bastards...great moive...great company!

2. He's a wonderful dad who's, like all us parents, is always trying to figure it out!

3. He is a great business and professional person. People are drawn to him...he's like my dad, with a whole lot of natural charisma and charm!

4. We can always count on each other...even when were both busy and don't live to close to each other, when we do get together, we are there for each other!

5. He loves movies like me!

6. He loves a good deal...like me!

7. He's a funny guy with interesting anecdotal stories.

8. He's also a dork.....go ahead say it....like ME!

9. He's reading this thinking, my sister...what a dork!

10. He's all about family.

11. He has one hell of a voice for singing, which I wish he would start doing again!

12. He realizes he needs to get healthy...right????!!!! RIGHT!

13. He's not only my brother...but my friend!

Love you bro!! Happy birthday to you and to mom and dad for having you and letting me be your big sister!! Love you forever!!! (Copernicous...Staconte!...dojo dojo!) -it's bro/sis thing!

(this is an oldie layout, but a goodie...one can tell it's old by the small size of the abdominal area on my brother's gut!  Just Kidding! NOT! Still love you Raj!!!  now go drink some water!)

My first photography session

Today was my first session with Mama Love and Baby Samantha. It was a gorgeous day and the beach was calling. Kim is amazing and I enjoyed hanging out with her and talking and just having some woman adult time during the shoot. She's a kindred soul and I look forward to the day when I can introduce to my close friends....I just know they will love her!  Sam is just so adorably cute! She held up wonderfully in the warm sun. Mayonnaise Jar & Two Beers... 
When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers. 

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. 
When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. 
He then asked the students if the jar was full. 
They agreed that it was. 

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar He shook the jar lightly. 
The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. 
He then asked the students again if the jar was full. 
They agreed it was. 

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. 
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. 
He asked once more if the jar was full. 
The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.' 

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. 
The students laughed.. 

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. 
The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. 

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. 

The sand is everything else---the small stuff.. 
'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. 
The same goes for life. 
If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you.  

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. 
Spend time with your children. 
Spend time with your parents. 
Visit with grandparents. 
Take time to get medical checkups. 
Take your spouse out to dinner. 
Play another 18. 
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. 
Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. 
Set your priorities. 
The rest is just sand. 
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer represented. 
The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked..' 

The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.
